The relationship between David Harbor and Millie Bobby Brown was in the spotlight this week, following claims they clashed on the set of Stranger Things.
Harbour, 50, played Jim Hopper in the Netflix sci-fi series, which earned him two Emmy nominations, while Brown, 21, shot to childhood fame when he appeared on screen as Eleven.
Although Eleven is Hopper’s adopted daughter on the long-running show, which released its fifth and final season this month, there are now claims that the actors were just friends during filming.
Over the weekend, reports surfaced that Enola Holmes star Brown complained about Harbor’s behavior, resulting in an alleged internal investigation.
Although Harbor’s name remains strong in the media after his ex-wife Lily Allen released her new album and accused him of infidelity, the latest reports of abuse are surprising, considering he and Brown have repeatedly spoken positively about each other—at least publicly.

What have David Harbor and Millie Bobby Brown said about each other in the past?
Harbor and Brown still follow each other on Instagram, which has fans questioning what’s going on behind the scenes.
Moreover, they both praised the other actor in interviews.
Brown previously told Empire about his working relationship with his co-star: ‘David and I connected on a different level.
She always looked out for me, and I always annoyed her like a daughter or little sister.
‘I always try to climb on top of him, and he always rolls his eyes and laughs at me.’
She went on to say: “I think that’s how El and Hopper’s relationship started to develop on the show—it reflected our real lives and our real relationship.”
And from Harbor’s perspective, he also says that he’s always had a fatherly-style bond with his younger cast members, who are now in their early twenties.
“They’re all good kids,” he praised Esquire Spain when talking about players like Brown, Ginn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp and Sadie Sink.
He added that he has high hopes for the future of this talented ensemble: ‘I would love to see Gaten [Matarazzo] played King Lear when he was 70 years old.
“I want to see careers like that come out of them.”
Regarding Brown specifically, in 2017, Harbor vowed to “protect” her as she stepped into the limelight at just 13 years old.
“I think he was in the crosshairs of something very dangerous that no one seemed to notice,” he told People. “I think the development of the mind, someone who becomes this famous and still has a brain that isn’t fully developed, is a very difficult thing to navigate.”
Harbor added: ‘I hope he gets the help he needs. I know that I tried to protect him as much as possible.’
He made the remarks as trolling attacks were directed at Brown, who was forced to delete his Twitter account due to online harassment.
Harbor went on to express his hope that they would remain friends for years to come: ‘I want him to be an artist too; when I was in the nursing home, he would bring me his Oscar, and I could look at it and things like that.’
Alleged harassment and bullying claims
Things changed in early November when it was reported that Brown had filed harassment and bullying claims against Harbor before filming began for the final season of Stranger Things.
There are said to be ‘pages and pages’ of allegations, with sources claiming that, following the filing, Brown made sure he had a personal representative accompany him on set throughout season 5.
‘The investigation went on for months,’ one source told The Mail on Sunday.
The insider clarified that the alleged filing against Harbor does not involve any sexual misconduct.
At this time, Netflix has declined to comment publicly on the matter.
Neither Harbor nor Brown’s camp have responded to the allegations.
Instead, the streaming giant wants to keep things moving towards the end of Stranger Things.
“This will be a theatrical event,” said a Netflix source. ‘Nothing can sugarcoat this, not even the main character’s personal life.’
They added that ‘Netflix would never comment on an internal investigation, but the fact that they haven’t denied it speaks volumes’.
“Stranger Things helped put Netflix on the map,” the insider further claimed.
‘Millions of fans around the world have been waiting for the final. Nobody wants to take attention away from that.’
Harbour’s former partner Allen, who sings in her new song, West End Girl, about how her alleged gaslighting and sex addiction led to the breakdown of their marriage, has also remained silent about the reports.
But there are claims that Harbor was ‘supported throughout’ by Allen, whose divorce was confirmed earlier this year.
