Thomas Tuchel said the decision to limit Declan Rice for England’s victory over Andorra came after the midfielder did not have a ‘rhythm’ in building a game.
England made him three wins from three in their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign, but in the end flattered to deceive in a 1-0 victory over Andorra.
Three lions snorted and expanded, dominating the ball for the big plot of the game, but only Harry Kane found the way to the score in the middle of the second half.
Still understood his troops, Tuchel lunged at XI experimental in Barcelona, with Curtis Jones was deployed at the right back and Jordan Henderson began at the heart of the British midfield for the first time since 2023.
Rice has been the mainstay of the British midfield over the past few years, but only appeared as the second submarine in the second half, with Tuchel suggested the decision to clash the Arsenal star solely based on what he had seen in training before the match.
‘Declan [Rice] seemed a little out of the rhythm and I thought Jordan [Henderson] No wonder to play, ‘Tuchel told BBC Radio 5 Live-Match.
‘And also for what Jordan brought to this group, feasible. We started well and then lost rhythm and precision and also energy to further determine and score more goals.

“It is necessary that we see it and then present in detail to what players we don’t like, what we want to do better and what the standards are.”
Rice played 52 matches in all competitions for Arsenal last season, and is one of the many English stars that can be done without this international break at the end of the campaign.
But Tuchel insisted that fatigue after the dry season was not a reason because of the lack of British urgency of their low -ranking opposition on Saturday night.

“The window is a window, so there is no reason,” German said after the match.
“We say many times that the club does not like windows, and even for the national team, it is not an easy window because they come from a long holiday and season. But still, I think we can and have to do better in 90 minutes.
“We played 25 minutes where I felt it was a matter of time before we created opportunities and scored goals, but we lost this momentum completely in the last 20 minutes of the first half.

‘Starting okay again for the first 15 minutes of the second half, but we lost it again. That is the lack of energy and quality at the end of both parts and I think it is the most honest thing to admit it and not talk about it.
“We hope more and we can give more and we will try to think of this as learning and do better as soon as possible.”
Harry Kane: ‘We’re not good enough’

The strike in the second half Kane saw British captain scoring his 450th career goal, but striker Bayern Munich admitted his team would be better regardless of his schedule.
“It’s not one of the people who will be remembered and we have a good spell but we take three points and continue,” he told ITV after the match.
“We may not be good enough to the ball and it gives them confidence and then the last five or 10 minutes, we have to stop them.
‘We must be better. Juni was never an easy camp and we had people who came after a long season. We have friendly on Thursday we can learn from again.
“Great fans and they make themselves heard, and we are disappointed we can’t print more but we will look at the next match.”
