It’s rare for a Step 6 team to be mentioned in an international call-up, of course unless you’re Binfield with a number of Bermuda internationals in your squad.
However the latest addition to the Berkshire Internationals ranks is Woodley United’s Kasper Hok who has been called up to the Bangladesh U20 squad as an over-age player for the tournament in the country involving Brazil and Argentina.
The 2025 AFB Latin-Bangla Super Cup was an invitational competition held in Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka between 5 and 11 December.
Meanwhile for some managers, losing a player to an international tournament in the middle of the season would be a big problem – especially if the player is flying high in the league. But Kestrels boss Jordan Blake believes the news is a positive for the club.
Speaking to Football in Berkshire he said: “It’s fantastic as a football club that we have international players in our team. It shows how far we have come as a football club to attract players who are in and around international football. This is very special for a football club. We hope to have more international players in the future.
Blake believes the young defender, who has also played locally for Wokingham Town and Windsor & Eton, has a bright future: “Kasper is a humble, honest and hard-working man. Someone who consistently wants to improve. He is a quiet individual but goes about his business and lets his football do the talking. He is loved by everyone on and off the pitch for the characteristics I have just mentioned, but is also a brilliant footballer. He is a dream manager to work with and I am sure he has a bright future both ways in football clubs and on the international stage.”
