With finishing gameweek 3 on Sundays, it means there is no time to enter revised statistics for Sunday matches on the Fantasy Premier League (FPL).
Maxence Lacroix (£ 5.0 million) ended a short defensive contribution (Defcon/DC) from the 10th threshold needed for defenders to get two additional fantasy points.
Unfortunately for the owner, once Opta reviewed the victory of Crystal Palace at Aston Villa, he crashed up to 10 Defcons – but he did not get two DC points because Gameweek was closed.

To accurately reflect the performance of players in fantasy, Player Statistics> Fantasy Statistics Now show Defcon Points taken directly from the FPL website:

However, Player statistics> survive unchanged: still using our opta data to calculate the success of Defcon.
In the end, it was not Lacroix’s mistake that Gameweek closed earlier; If there was another match on Monday, statistics would be updated and he would get two DC points.
He reached the 10 defcons required and therefore maintaining a 100%record. As a fantasy manager who wants to recruit players, it is better for statistics to reflect what happened in the match than to cut earlier, before the Opta match review was over.

Lacroix is one of the six players who reached Defcon’s threshold in each of their appearance this season.
We have also added a new stat to Player Statistics> Surviving KPInamely ‘minutes per defensive contribution’.

When managing the ‘minute performance’ filter to more than 45 minutes, we delete players who tend to appear late from the bench, and the resulting table gives us a good idea about who succeeded in Defcons.
For those of you who like to build a special stat table, the following defcon statistics are now available:

And for Defcons taken from fantasy, use statistics that start with ‘FPL’:

Two new delta statistics – ‘Defensive Contribution Delta’ and ‘Defensive Contribution Points Delta’ – Compare our opta data with FPL.

They revealed that not only Lacroix spent two additional points this season, but also Bruno Guimaraes (£ 6.5 million) too. The Brazilian player has 11 Defcons, one short from the threshold 12 required for the midfielder, when Gameweek 2 closed after the defeat of Newcastle United from Liverpool. Following Opta’s review the next day, he increased to 12.
There are differences in the underlying statistics for a number of players. Michael Keane (£ 4.5), for example, are two Defcon worse, but there are no consequence changes because no one failed to reach their position because of them.

This works in two directions, of course.
Palace Will Hughes and Leeds United’s Ethhan Ampadu (Both £ 4.9 million) has two more defcon on FPL compared to the OPTA revision compatibility data.
So far, however, it does not cause any player to get two points of Defcon that they do not deserve to do. Although it must be only a matter of time before that happened.
