Lembah Thames Premier League – and step 7 in general – famous for being difficult to get a promotion.
The club not only needs to finish at the end of the table, they must have a land assessment for step 6 before the promotion (unlike the steps above in the English soccer pyramid) and most importantly, they must register.
The official requirements for promotion are: There are 50 divisions in Step 7 and a maximum of one team can be promoted from each. The team that you want to consider for promotion must apply first, pass the relevant land assessment Step 6 and finish in 5 of their division.
Last season Maidenhead was implemented, but the club did not have a suitable foundation according to the FA rules because even though there was an agreement with Burnham, ‘tenants’ had to play for one season before that calculated on one of the promotional criteria.
Who said, given that no team was degraded from step 6 last season after heroic the last day of Woodley United, yeah ..
What about the city of Maidenhead this season? The club faced a fierce battle to win the division with double champion Westwood Wanderers to lead the accusation with the rejuvenated Newbury city.
Maidenhead Town FC has moved their first team to the 1878 Burnham Stadium as part of an ambitious plan to advance the club to the national league system.
Town, who played in the 7th Premier League of Thames, was formed 21 years ago and their first training session was truly jumper for the goalpost in Oaken Grove Park.
Now, like 21 years, Town has been looking for an impressive new home and found it in 1878.
Chairman Maidenhead Jeff Beck said the 1878 stadium – with a 3G field, a spotlight, closed holder, food and licensed bar – had the facilities needed by the city if it could secure the promotion to step 6.
And this is a good start in the new home for Andy Rumble’s squad, with two wins-including 10-1 on Saturday, September 13-and the last penalty defeat of the ruling Thames Valley Premier League champion, Westwood Wanderers.
Beck said: “It’s amazing to watch the team running here in 1878 to rethink the first training session in 2004 where we only have a group of local friends, no equipment and no goalkeeper.
“We have developed to three men’s teams and are related to Maidenhead Boys & Girls FC because we want to give paths to adult football, because the development of young players, local is an important part of our ethos. We have had 23 players playing for our first team who have passed our development team, and with four that currently played we proudly see the proven path.
“We have played at the amazing national sports center Bisham Abbey and last season runner -up was finished in a position to be promoted. However, the FA needs the types of facilities offered 1878 to reach the promotion. I want to thank Glenn, Paul, Michelle and Michele in Burnham FC to make us feel at home.”
Rumble added: “The team could not ask for a better place and I was happy with the way the players were brought to 1878.
“Facilities are also much better for supporters but boys will be happy to see more here.”
Captain Mitchell Burley said: “The club has made a big commitment to move us to Burnham so that it is now a player and coaching staff to make the same progress on the field.”
Town game at 2 pm on Saturdays and 19:45 on Wednesday, with food and drinks available starting one hour before kick-off. Bar Blues Burnham is also open after the match.
Rumble added: “This really makes a great match experience with high quality football to watch on the field.”
Ten percent of the receipt of the house gate this season is being donated to the Thames Valley Air Ambulance. Town also holds a charity event every year and has donated more than £ 45,000 to local organizations and good destinations since 2017.
Town, whose reserve and development team will continue to play at Bisham, also searched to offer local students the opportunity to get real work experience on social media, marketing and photography and support the club at the same time.
They are also looking for further sponsors to support their encouragement for promotion. Anyone who is interested can send an email to the club at maidenheadtown04@gmail.com or contact via social media page.
