Not satisfied with matching the performance of the best FA Cup club, Tadley Calleva will now decorate the national television screen that has been chosen as a television pick for the FA 2025/26 Cup qualifying round.
The Romans defeated Christchurch 3-0 on the weekend, attracting the former Enterprise national league team Weymouth out of the hat in what could be a tie spinning money at Barlowows Park.
Tadley previously made the first qualifying round in 2020, lost 1-0 to Truro City, and 2023, lost 5-1 to the city of Didcot.
Weymouth, which was revealed to the South South League Premier Division after a series of bad seasons in the National League South, is one of the bigger teams in the first qualifying round lottery and Barlows Park is known for attracting a crowd for big events if the new visit from AFC Bournemouth and Aldershot Town is something to go through.
This match has been chosen for television with Tadley to be the first football on the closed side of Berkshire displayed on the FA Cup television pick since the first round of Bracknell Town’s house against IPSWich in 2022. This match is one of the X Ties chosen and will be displayed at the BBC Red Button Service during the weekend of Saturday 30 August 30.
Football in Berkshire understands that both teams will receive costs for live broadcasts. A FA spokesman confirmed that the home and away club can receive up to £ 1,000 for the match.
The winner of the first qualifying round tie will receive £ 2,250 while the defeated team will receive £ 750. Tadley has received £ 2,569 from this season.
