Strictly Come Dancing confirmed the Gladiator Legend as the first celebrity in the BBC 2025 contestant

The first celebrity for the Strictly Come Dancing 2025 line-up has been confirmed as a gladiator icon.

Olympian and BBC gladiator star, Harry Ainges-Nareetey, is the first famous face to decorate a tight ballroom this fall.

TV’s personality has taken part in the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special last year with Pro-Mitra Nancy Xu and now he returns for the second half.

‘After the special Christmas, it is very pleasing to me just have to do it twice! I am very happy to be a part of a tight family of this series and I am ready to give everything I have.

‘I will bring a lot of energy to illuminate the dance floor. Let’s hope that I take a quick routine like me on the track, ‘he said in a statement.

The Multi-Gold-Medal GB Sprinter Team was announced as Nitro in the BBC Gameshow at high risk in 2023.

He will definitely bring all his skills to the dance floor.

If there is one thing that Harry uses, it becomes the best of the best, not only competing at the 2016 Rio Olympics but also securing the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year award in 2005 aged 17.

Not to mention being European champions three times and the Commonwealth champion twice. So he will be a force that must be taken into account.

The next three celebrity contestants will be announced today at the One Show at 19:00.
