Rodri also revealed that he had told Zubimendi that he ‘left the key’ when he walked away from international football.

“I talked to him a few days ago and told him that it was time, that I handed over the key to the team.”
Zubimendi began the Spanish 3-0 World Cup qualifying victory over Bulgaria on Thursday night, with Rodri coming as a substitute for the second half.
Rodri missed most of the last season through injury but Spanish boss Luis de la Fuente confirmed that he was in ‘perfect condition’ to return.
His absence was certainly felt in Manchester City, which failed to achieve the fifth Premier League title that broke the record last season and failed to win any silver.
Rodri won the Ballon d’Or award during injury recovery and said it was’ Fresh Air Breath ‘at a very difficult time’.
“Injury is far more important than Ballon d’Or,” he added.
“It breathed fresh air when I had difficulty. I was happy with his confession. ‘
Rodri began the Manchester City clash against Brighton before international rest but could not prevent the Pep Guardiola team from slipping into defeat 2-1.
The winner of the Spanish Euro will try to make Man City return to the victory of next weekend when Manchester United traveled to the Etihad Stadium.
Arsenal and Zubimendi, meanwhile, returned to action on Saturday afternoon with a home match against Nottingham Forest.
