The ‘ultra-thrilling’ four-part thriller is now available to stream after being added to ITVX.
Starring Anna Maxwell Martin from Line of Duty, Hollington Road originally broadcast on ITV in 2021.
However, after being added to the broadcaster’s streaming platform, fans can now enjoy the ‘gripping’ psychological story of a missing 10-year-old boy.
Tells the story of two sisters, Theresa (Martin) and Helen (Detectorists star Rachael Stirling), their lives thrown into chaos after the disappearance of their son.
The series’ synopsis reads: ‘Sisters and social pillars in the community, Theresa and Helen struggle to keep their lives and family together in the wake of this tragedy.
‘Secrets and lies begin to surface and things long held are shaken as grief sweeps through Hollington Drive.’
The series also features Jonas Armstrong from The Bay, Jim Howick from Sex Education and Amelie Bea Smith, who voices Peppa Pig.
Via IMDb, fans praised the show’s storyline, with Bryanpwo writing: ‘This story really touches your heart and you can almost feel the tight tension in your stomach and neck as the storyline progresses.
The acting, as well as the young cast, really fits the storyline.
‘Every detail, the sheer style of wardrobe, hair and home, screams that something is going on beneath the calm surface is spot on!!
‘The cinematography is beautiful and enhances the tension of the story very well.’
NKUnnie added: ‘I found the story interesting and engaging. I kept watching to see how it would end.
‘Is it murder? Suicide? Do kids do this? The storyline kept me interested.’
Meanwhile, loveagoodstory argued: ‘The story is strong, the acting of the cast is outstanding, and the program is well directed. I enjoyed watching it.’
In its review, The Guardian also claimed that Martin was ‘the perfect moody mother’ and the series was ‘a fine addition to suburban nightmares’.
However, some viewers complained that the series was a disappointment, such as CarolynOcean who said: ‘I hate to say it, but this is probably the worst drama I’ve watched in a long time, I can’t believe how bad the plot is!’
SkyHawk747 also wrote: ‘I managed to watch all four episodes hoping it would get better but unfortunately the quality worsens with each episode.
‘Besides the nice views and the houses, that’s all you’ll get that’s nice. The acting is very poor at times and the storyline that could have played out better ends up being hollow.’
Hollington Drive is now available to watch on ITVX.
