Joao Palhinha (Bayern Munich to Tottenham Hotspur, Loan)

Portuguese midfielder Joao Palhinha (£ 5.5 million) has returned to the Premier League from Bayern Munich with a loan agreement. Spurs have an option to buy it at a price of £ 26 million too.

Spurs cry for an aggressive and defensive midfield player, with some uncertainty about the future Yves Bissouma (5.5m). Rodrigo Bentancur (£ 5.5 million) and Lucas Bergall (£ 5.5 million) will be a key figure in the engine room but there is no natural ‘six’ like Palhinha.

Therefore, the role of former Fulham man can play on the new Spurs side under Thomas Frank can be very large.

The only loss is in discipline. The Portuguese international collected 27 yellow cards in 2022-23 and 2023-24-at least five more than anyone in that period.

Ramsdale spent the previous campaign as the beginning of No.1 for Southampton, who was relegated from the Premier League with only 12 points. It was the fourth different club of the fourth British fourth guards he had passed down during his career so far, making him get an unwanted reputation.

He left 66 goals and only managed three clean pieces in 30 league league last season but we could not pin the misery of the saints that were sad to him, because they were not equipped with not completed for the survival of the Premier League.

According to Opta, indeed, Ramsdale did not allow more goals than what was ‘expected’ than him. In fact, he has the same XGP as a new rival Nick Pope (£ 5.0 million)!

It is uncertain how many Ramsdale gametime will get next season, given the competition in goal in Newcastle. Maybe the whale shirt initially lost.

But Ramsdale’s ability to play from behind is more effective than the Pope may be a factor in him getting a nod faster than we think. Might say that the magpies are also pursuing James Trafford (£ 5.0 million), another soccer guard.

Avoid Newcastle goalkeepers and visit again, say, Gameweek 9 when equipment increases.

Kieran Dewsbury-Hall (Chelsea to Everton, £ 24 million)

One for curious fantasy managers as Kernan Dewsbury-Hall only £ 5.0 million in FPL.

Not many have to judge him in terms of Premier League numbers. Indeed, he only made two starts for Chelsea last season.

In one full top campaign for Leicester City, he gave two little goals and three assists in 31 events. He will score a defensive contribution point so, so he is not one or the other.

But this is the year under Enzo Marsca in 2023/24 which raises the hope of the surge in attack. Dewsbury-Hall pocketed 12 goals and 14 assists in the Foxes Promotion Winner Campaign.

The big question is: Where did David Moyes play it? If there is a double pivot, there is no hope outside of DC points. If further ahead, say in ’10’, it can be a decent value of money.

One to oversee in the last pre-season match of Everton this weekend.
