Defensive Contribution Monster Returns Joao Palhinha (£ 5.5 million), Newcastle United goalkeeper, and next Rayan Ait-Nouri (£ 6.0 million) …?
The current transfer market is in full flow and the latest collection we will see some of the latest steps to the Premier League.
Don’t forget that you can find all confirmed transfer listed here Throughout the summer.
We Complete pre-season guide Also contains many other articles to read before a new campaign.
Joao Palhinha (Bayern Munich to Tottenham Hotspur, Loan)

Portuguese midfielder Joao Palhinha (£ 5.5 million) has returned to the Premier League from Bayern Munich with a loan agreement. Spurs have an option to buy it at a price of £ 26 million too.
This happened after a pretty disappointing time with the Bavarian club last season, where he only made six leagues begin and 11 further substitute performances. There is no contribution of goals – that’s not his expertise.
No, the original power is his defense work.
Until this summer, it was irrelevant at FPL. But not now, with the emergence of defensive contribution points (DC)!
We know from his time in Fulham that Palhinha can be an impressive figure in the midfield position – and statistics are more than just supporting him.

During the two seasons he spent at the top of England, no one approached him because of the tackle (a total of 300). He is also ranked sixth for intersection (92).
So, how are the numbers translated into DC points? Not surprisingly, very good.
No one, indeed, gathered more than 92 full years of two seasons with Fulham.

Spurs cry for an aggressive and defensive midfield player, with some uncertainty about the future Yves Bissouma (5.5m). Rodrigo Bentancur (£ 5.5 million) and Lucas Bergall (£ 5.5 million) will be a key figure in the engine room but there is no natural ‘six’ like Palhinha.
Therefore, the role of former Fulham man can play on the new Spurs side under Thomas Frank can be very large.
The only loss is in discipline. The Portuguese international collected 27 yellow cards in 2022-23 and 2023-24-at least five more than anyone in that period.
You need to reduce the possibility of the sentence from the expected DC point, then, when weighing the FPL value.
Callum Wilson (Newcastle United to West Ham United, Free)

Callum Wilson (£ 6.0 million) has completed his move to West Ham after failing to sign a new contract with Newcastle.
The 33 -year -old player joined the Graham Potter forces with a one -year contract.
The striker has limited match time last season, making 18 appearances and only two began because they were stuck in the back Alexander Isaac (£ 10.5 million) in the order of power in Newcastle. He failed to score one goal last season too.
But changes in the settings can turn on Wilson’s career again after struggling to establish himself as a starter for the previous club for the past few seasons.
The British attacker still has a very good record for Magpies, netting 47 goals in 71 begins and 42 sub -appearances of the sub since £ 20 million of his move from Bournemouth in 2020.
Ignoring washing last season, he consistently was near the top of the shot graph to the goals forward:

While the arrival of sobs in Newcastle in 2022 contributed to the lack of match time, injury also did not help. He was in the matchday squad only for half of the Newcastle match for the last two campaigns.
The main competition for several minutes at West Ham, Niclas Fülkrug (£ 6.0 million), has a strong pre-season. The Germany seems to be leading the attack Jarrod Bowen (£ 8.0 million) Gameweek 1 came.
So, Wilson is a little non-starter in terms of FPL for large kick-off. Given that Fullkrug itself is vulnerable to strange layoffs, however, Wilson must get a further chance in the future. When he is on the field, he usually gives – but can he stay out of the treatment room this season?
David Moller Wolfe (AZ Alkmaar to Wolverhampton Wanderers, £ 10 million)

International Norway, David Moller Wolfe (FPL TB price), join Wolves with a five -year contract. The price of £ 10 million from the Dutch side AZ Alkmaar.
Wolf and Wolfe felt like a good match only for the name on the shirt but because the 23-year-old player will fill the void left by Rayan Aït-Nouri (£ 6.0 million), who left for Manchester City at the beginning of the window.
Norwegians can play as traditional left back or left wing, so it will enter well into the Wolves squad. He started 30 of 34 league matches for AZ last year, and collected eight goals contributions (two goals, six assists) throughout the season.
The underlying number is AIT-Nour-lite, but once again, Wolfe is more orthodox left-back in 2024/25, rather than wing backs like its predecessor.
| Starting (+ sub -application) in 2024/25 | Shot | Possibly made | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ait-nour | 37 (0) | 36 | 46 |
| Wolfe | 30 (1) | 15 | 18 |
When settled, he is expected to take the first left wing -back place, with Hugo Bueno (£ 4.5 million) and Rodrigo Gomes (£ 4.5 million) Competition that does not convince him. Bueno spent last season on loan in Feyenoord and could get out.
The form of wolves increased dramatically under Vitor Pereira, who got 12 wins in 25 matches and tightened their defense. Pereira also got the best from Aït-Nouri, which gave four goals and seven assists last season. That is a very high bar that has been set by Algeria, of course, and we will keep our fantasy wallet in our pocket until we have seen a little wolf in action.
Aaron Ramsdale (Southampton to Newcastle, Loan)

British goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale (£ 5.0 million) Completed seasonal loans from Southampton to Newcastle last Saturday.
He reunited Eddie Howe, after previously working with his new boss at Bournemouth.
Howe signed Ramsdale from Sheffield United in 2017, and Ramsdale praised Howe by having a big influence on his career in the initial years as a professional.
“Working with managers and coaching staff again is a big attraction for me. They already have a big influence on my career and Gaffer changed me from a man to a professional soccer player at Bournemouth. He really showed me a rope so that the manager and his coach staff were a big sales point for me to come here.” – Aaron Ramsdale
Ramsdale spent the previous campaign as the beginning of No.1 for Southampton, who was relegated from the Premier League with only 12 points. It was the fourth different club of the fourth British fourth guards he had passed down during his career so far, making him get an unwanted reputation.
He left 66 goals and only managed three clean pieces in 30 league league last season but we could not pin the misery of the saints that were sad to him, because they were not equipped with not completed for the survival of the Premier League.
According to Opta, indeed, Ramsdale did not allow more goals than what was ‘expected’ than him. In fact, he has the same XGP as a new rival Nick Pope (£ 5.0 million)!

It is uncertain how many Ramsdale gametime will get next season, given the competition in goal in Newcastle. Maybe the whale shirt initially lost.
But Ramsdale’s ability to play from behind is more effective than the Pope may be a factor in him getting a nod faster than we think. Might say that the magpies are also pursuing James Trafford (£ 5.0 million), another soccer guard.
Avoid Newcastle goalkeepers and visit again, say, Gameweek 9 when equipment increases.
Kieran Dewsbury-Hall (Chelsea to Everton, £ 24 million)

One for curious fantasy managers as Kernan Dewsbury-Hall only £ 5.0 million in FPL.
Not many have to judge him in terms of Premier League numbers. Indeed, he only made two starts for Chelsea last season.
In one full top campaign for Leicester City, he gave two little goals and three assists in 31 events. He will score a defensive contribution point so, so he is not one or the other.
But this is the year under Enzo Marsca in 2023/24 which raises the hope of the surge in attack. Dewsbury-Hall pocketed 12 goals and 14 assists in the Foxes Promotion Winner Campaign.
The big question is: Where did David Moyes play it? If there is a double pivot, there is no hope outside of DC points. If further ahead, say in ’10’, it can be a decent value of money.
One to oversee in the last pre-season match of Everton this weekend.
Angus Gunn (Norwich City to Nottingham Forest, FREE)

We will save this one brief: New reserve goalkeeper Matz Sels (£ 5.0 million)!
Angus Gunn (TB price) may be in second place behind the Sels, with Carlos Miguel (£ 4.0 million) linked by moving.
Gunn kept seven clean sheets in 35 league necks for Norwich City last season.
