Kelly Clarkson took a pause from the spotlight to focus on her family during a hard time.
American Idol champion, 43, announced in February that he would take residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, following in the footsteps of Celine Dion, Adele, Madonna, and Sir Elton John.
But the singer and host of the Grammy winner Talk Show has now announced that he postponed August Kelly Clarkson: Studio Sessions Residence at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
That step, he said in social media posts, was due to health problems experienced by her ex -husband.
“While I usually keep my personal life a secret, this last year, my father’s father is sick and at this time, I need to be fully present for them,” Clarkson wrote. ‘I appreciate your grace, kindness, and understanding.’
Postponed shows are scheduled for August 8-9-9 and 15-16. Clarkson’s residency is expected to be continued in November, with performances set for 7, 8, 14, and 15.
According to Caesars Palace, fans with tickets to the postponed event can hold them for the newly announced 2026 or ask for a refund in 30 days.
This is not the first disturbance in Clarkson’s schedule this year. Earlier in 2025, he missed ten episodes of Kelly Clarkson’s event without explanation, encouraging speculation about the causes of his absence.
In addition, in early July, he canceled the Vegas show only 90 minutes before he was going to go on stage.
He began in a statement to his Instagram followers: ‘We have worked 24/7 to make the most intimate and extraordinary experience studio session with and for my extraordinary fans.
‘I am very grateful that you always appear for me and I am destroyed to postpone tonight and opening tomorrow at Caesars.
‘Preparation and exercise have an impact on my voice. I want the show to be perfect for all of you and I need to protect myself from doing serious damage so I take this weekend and next week to rest so we can give what you deserve to get. ‘
Now, his latest statement shows that behind the scenes, he has navigated more than just a crowded schedule.
Clarkson shared two children – Putri River Rose and Putra Remington Alexander – with a former Brandon Blackstock.
The couple married in 2013 and separated in 2020, with their divorce completed in 2022 after a protracted legal battle.
While Clarkson mostly maintains the details of his family’s life remaining personal, glancing into the reality of post-division has emerged in the recent interview.
In January 2024’s conversation with people, Clarkson described the separation as ‘very difficult.’
“You feel alone,” he said, “and that is just a blessing to be able to have an outlet for extraordinary emotions,” referring to his confession album, chemistry, which explores a broken heart.
In the Kylie Kelce’s not Gonna Lie Podcast episode, Clarkson further about the emotional victims of the caregivers, revealed how his children seemed to give more leeway to their father when he was not present.
‘Even from young age, we don’t teach them, only you are like you. . . He was allowed to be somewhere, but you didn’t? ‘He said. “That’s very interesting.”
He added, with a touch of sarcasm: ‘Parenting together is fun! This is like, “Oh, he can’t be this cause.” I am like, “Okay, cool. What! Do you think I just go and just sit in the park all day?” ‘
Clarkson’s divorce from Blackstock, who had served as his manager, was complicated. In March 2023, he was awarded $ 2.6 million in a dispute over a commission that was not worthy of being paid to Blackstock, after the California decision found that he had received an agreement that was supposed to go through a licensed talent agent in CAA.
Although both parties reached a secret settlement in May 2024, the story had continued for years.
However, for now, Clarkson placed his role as a mother in front of his duties on the stage. While some fans expressed disappointment at the delay, many gathered around him with support, echoing his message prioritizing the family first.
