Investing in Football Women are not just about money

I watched the beloved FC woman starting their 2025/26 season on Sunday in a firm style with a convincing 4-1 win over Lea’s badshot at Arbor Park.

And I will come true, I choke a little after the match. Why?

The mascot of fellow local club Shinfield Rangers ran to the edge of the field with a soccer shirt, boots, telephone kasing, and books signatures that wanted to sign the contract after the match.

It reminds me of something that former manager together with County Ellis Woods told us during the brilliant FA Vas club debut campaign that made them reach the third round on 21/22: “I said to children on Sundays, make an opportunity for children. When you see your children can play on your head and greet.

That makes me think to be my own age and lack of opportunities to play in school or for clubs and thoughts to be able to see women playing locally.

That is the norm for them today, but that is not always a norm for everyone and this is why investing in schools and club provisions for girls is very important!
