The police have found human remains a few days after a man claimed to kill a woman who disappeared in January.

Julie Buckley, 55, was last seen in a supermarket near Christchurch, Cambridgeshire, on January 28.

He was reported missing in early February, and when police entered his house on the 13th of the month they found his blood around the property.

Karl Hutchings, 48, was arrested on that day and was charged with Julie’s murder after that.

On Monday he pleaded guilty to the murder at the Cambridge Crown Court, but at the time of his request, his body had not been found.

Now Cambridgeshire police said they had found the body of humans in a field after the lawyer Hutchings shared the location of the potential burial site.

Remains -a residue found in the fields in Lane Blue Lane in Wimblingdon, less than 10 miles from the village where Julie lives, and the site has been closed with a view that is likely to remain in place for a week.

The Julie family has been told about the discovery, and the post-mortem exam will take place next week.

Head of Detective Inspector Richard Stott said: “Julie’s family has been known to this significant update and is supported by special trained officers.”

The Head of Insp Stott previously said that he hoped that Hutchings would ‘tell us where he had left his body (Ms Buckley), so he could be laid off with dignity’.

The police believe Hutchings killed Julie on January 30, and then used her bank cards and sold her goods.

He will be sentenced on October 24.
