Thames Valley Premier League Newbury will return to its roots with a series of changes outside the field.
Football in Newbury has a complicated history during the 1990s and early 2000s. The original side which was founded in 1887 was dissolved in 1995, there was a successor club and many name changes because of the effort to get the city and the team supported the pyramid.
‘Returns’ then has become the order today for the club during the summer after returning to the less successful to the upper level of the Premier Lembah Thames League to see the club finish under eight points.
Historic club Faraday Road Ground returned to active tasks over the past season and during the summer of former striker Danny Langford was appointed as a new chairman. Carl Jenner has been appointed as a manager.
Now following the RUPS voting, a series of changes are being made which includes new names, colors and badges for the 2025/26 season.
The statement on the club’s Facebook page revealed: “Following the round voice at the GMS last night, we are very happy to announce some big changes! First, we will! We will be deleted back to our real name, ‘Newbury Town’. In addition, you will see our colors again.
