Angry Indian villagers trapped several staff of the Department of Forestry in the trap of a tiger as a punishment for failing to catch a big cat that killed their livestock.
Local residents from Bommalapura Village State Karnataka forced ten employees of Bandipur National Park into the cage because of their slow response to the appearance of local tigers.
A large cat, seen by local farmers, is believed to be responsible for a series of new livestock deaths.
The staff reportedly rescued that day. Five people were arrested after the incident.
Tiger is said to be a constant threat in the Chamarajanagar District, Southwest India – Home for two tiger reserves and wildlife protection.
Forest officials reportedly established a cage with a calf as a bait earlier this month to catch tigers.
But locals claim their responses are not good enough.
“We have complained repeatedly, but there is no comb that is done. Just placing a cage is not enough,” a local farmer told Express News Service.
Annoyed by the lack of actions of the authorities, the villagers reportedly trapped ten forest staff members in the cage when they visited on Tuesday, September 9.

Five people were reported to have been arrested, and a case was submitted by a forest officer, MN Shashidhar, an additional police supervisor, said on Wednesday.

In July, local farmers poisoned tigers and their four children in the Mahadeshwara Bukit Male -Lady Wildlife Reserve after the tiger killed farmers’ cows.
In another incident from Bandipur, a video showing a man chased by a wild elephant became viral.
The man was approaching dangerous to take a selfie, causing the elephant to demand him.
Forest officials then tracked it and fined the 25,000 hospital because it endangered himself and disturbed wildlife.
They reminded tourists that Bandipur is home to elephants, deer, and wild boar, and urged visitors to keep a safe distance.
