We have collected our initial scout pick for Gameweek 3 from Fantasy Premier League (FPL).
With the EFL Cup ties, UEFA Conference League Play-off match, Scout squad nominations and pre-match press conferences to come, there is still plenty of time for our weekly selection-which we will complete on Friday-to change.
But this early XI at least gave a glimpse of the players and the team to be considered.
About the ‘Picks Bus Team’
Like the last scout pick, there are certain limits for our troops:
- Budget £ 83.0 million for our initial XI
- The overall squad limit is £ 100.0 million
- No more than three players per team
Gameweek 3 Equipment

Possible young people

Massive investment in the attack is not surprising not to be a cure for all Manchester United problems.
But the ongoing examination might be able to wait until after Gameweek 3, when the equipment is hook again. This weekend, Burnley visited Old Trafford. Even in their absolute Nadir in 2024/25, United still scored three goals in five of their six meetings with a trio that was just promoted last season.
There is a glimmer of promise from the new display attack too, even if they have not become an instant hard blow. The Red Devils are the top for shots (32) and efforts in the box (21) despite facing two defenses that did not give too many opportunities last season.
You can use a reason to justify one of the £ 8.0m+ midfielders.
Burnley has allowed the chances of twice as many times to be made (Ie Pass/Cross that causes shots) from their left side than from their right. Good news for Bryan Mbeumo (£ 8.0 million), then?
But most of the XG shot high (and three goals conceded in Spurs) came from the left-to-middle zone. That’s more Matheus Cunha (£ 8.0 million) region.

Against the block as deep as Burnley, Bruno Fernandes‘(£ 9.0 million) Investigations can be the key to opening the Clarets defense’. Joint-thirds among all FPL midfielders for defensive contributions (DC/Defcon) in 2025/26, he is also a co-created by United (six).
In the back, there is a threat of set-piece and DC magnet Matthijs de Ligt (£ 5.0 million), which has defcon points in both matches this season, and Leny Yoro (£ 4.5 million), or the potential to attack open games Patrick Dorga (£ 4.5 million).
Far from United, you can bet your dollars below that the Nottingham Forest players will appear prominent on the Scout picks. The sad side of West Ham United traveled to the city land this weekend, with Graham Potter under serious pressure. Ranking in 19 for XG, they are also messy behind.
Their set-piece misery causes interest in people like Nikola Milenkovic (£ 5.5 million) and Chris Wood (£ 7.7 million), in particular:

In quarrels

The possibility of loss of four players due to injury or suspension can seriously endanger the chances of Newcastle United at Elland Road.
They may still have enough to see Leeds United, but there is no first part of their first choice and two of their three midfields, no doubt, no doubt watering their clean sheets. And Burn (£ 5.0 million) can still track to our Scout Pick: He will watch with great interest when Leeds conceded two goals set-piece for Arsenal, while he had a DC point fight in both appearances in 2025/26.
Further ahead, Anthony GordonSuspension (£ 7.5 million) crashed into Xmins from Anthony Luna (£ 7.0 million) and Harvey Barnes (£ 6.5 million). Barnes has criticism and sometimes there are questions about their broader contribution for Newcastle’s purposes. But he got the ability of Alonso-esque to give goals and assists regardless of his overall performance: there were almost many returns of attacks (14) as it began (17) last season.

It is fair to say that, is Newcastle and Brentford at home for Leeds and Sunderland in Gameweek 3, we have more confidence. We see what the two clubs can just do in Gameweek 1 when they have a crowd of hoarse houses on their backs.
Defcon-amassing Sepp van the mountain (£ 4.5 million) still considered, along with the string-midfielders Mikkel Damsgaard (£ 5.9 million), a success story of 11 goals last year Damage to Kevin (£ 7.0 million) and the target of taking a penalty Igor Thiago (£ 6.0 million). Despite facing the two weakest teams divisions in Gameweeks 1 and 2, Sunderland ranks lowly for XG:

Top: The team is sorted based on the lowest XG in 2025/26 until now
Wolf V Everton is an equipment that has all the characteristics of being ‘El Crapico’ this season but Sunday victory will support the Toffees. The host this weekend, there are so many teams in the transition without Mr. Cunha, Semedo and Ait-Nouri, also without a goal and there is no point.
A revitalized Jack Greatalism (£ 6.5 million), fresh from two assists, is a midfield candidate but the current interest is mostly in defense which is more tried and tested. James Tarkowski (£ 5.5 million) has done where he left in 2024/25, giving Defcon points on both gameweeks.
Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur brought their unbeaten records to home equipment that might not be a direct test. Indeed, Fulham and Bournemouth got something from the match that matched last season. Still, there is a few factors of feeling with Blues and Lilywhites today, so there is an argument to try and drive the peak of the wave apart from the opposition-after going to Etihad and win 2-0 last weekend, after all.
Richarlison (£ 6.7 million), Pedro Porro (£ 5.5 million), Kudus Mohammed (£ 6.6 million), Joao Pedro (£ 7.6 million), Stalk (6.5m), Pedro Neto (£ 7.0 million) and Marc Cucurella (£ 6.1 million) Not far from our minds, if not on the shopping list.
In a week where we might ignore Mohamed Salah (£ 14.5 million, see below) and three other assets £ 10.0 million are all marked, Erling Haaland (£ 14.1 million) is a premium choice that stands out-we want it, of course. He was never empty in five meetings with Brighton and Hove Albion, scored five goals and helped others.
Longer shot

Giants of Arsenal hosted the Titans of Liverpool this weekend, making them both look normal in the term FPL. This is the type of clash that you usually avoid with free blows, which are basically what scout chose, but is it wrong to ignore it?
Liverpool are dominated by 10 Newcastle on Monday, after also conceding two goals at home to Bournemouth.
The defense looks vulnerable and the gap looks too big between the lines, while Ibrahima Konate (£ 5.5 million) seemed to struggle for the current form. That’s what effectively makes the left cutting Viktor (£ 9.0 million) will fight in Gameweek 2.

Maybe this equipment deserves a second view.
