Gameweek review 2

The first few weekends have not been running according to plan. Although the summer of the planning that unites the squad that seems strong, the points are not flowing, and now there are injuries and uncertainty about key players.

Many choices should be clearly performing bad. Assets owned still empty, while differential kicks have not produced results. Even safer routes have turned into turmoil. This is the beginning that really makes me frustrated and many managers.

One of the more disappointing moments came to Gameweek 2, where my strategy depends on Maverick Bukayo from (£ 10.0 million) captain against Leeds United. On paper, it looks very smart in high ceiling against a leaky side.

But football has a way to lower us quickly. Saka was forced to go with an injury before the 60 minute sign, which means there is no clean point or captain’s bonus. Instead of smart betting, it turns into an expensive setback.

Cole PalmerThe injury flag (£ 10.5 million) only adds to the list of concerns that continue to increase. He is an important part of my midfield settings and his availability can still be proven important, depending on the latest updates.

Then there Florian Wirtz (£ 8.4 million). Inclusion will always be a calculated risk, because I know he might need time to leave. While the return has not arrived, I am not in a hurry to sell. Facing Burnley and Everton in Gameweeks 4 and 5 gave great opportunities, and I had a more urgent problem to overcome.

Maybe wildcard? I really understand why some press the button. If your team is structural or full of injury, it is a valid choice.

But for me, it feels premature. The team that I read is still a top of the fixture ticket, and I don’t see the Wildcard troops that significantly improve my current lot. In addition, I see dramatic equipment swing around gameweeks 7 and 8 as a more optimal time to reset.
