“We’re top of the league,” rang out at Lowther Road on Tuesday evening as Burnham celebrated a 3-0 win at Wokingham Town.
In this match, the Blues made good use of their eight-point lead at the top of the Combined Counties League North Premier Division with Youssef Bouimane looking the star performer, even before scoring the first of his hat-trick in the 14th minute.
Bouimane’s treble took his tally to eight goals in 10 games since his goal-scoring debut in January at home to Ardley United.
Joint managers Omz and Mo Bakali have built a solid side that doesn’t offer much to a Wokingham side missing their own star, captain Sean Moore, who will return at the weekend after suspension.
But the elephant in the room is Windsor & Eton who have seven games remaining following an FA Vase run and a frustrating postponement – and still have enough points to play for to comfortably top the table.
Dan Darlington of the Maidenhead Advertiser agrees, writing recently: “In theory, Windsor & Eton are the most likely challengers for the title. Trailing by 10 points but with six games remaining, they could be eight points clear of the Blues if they win it all. This seems unlikely, given the tight schedule and the fatigue the Royalists must be feeling – or will soon be feeling after playing a game every few days.”
Whether Rob Webb’s side are successful or not is out of Burnham’s control, and apart from North Greenford United, the Blues’ clash will bring maximum points back to the 1878 Stadium.

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
