As far as crucial games go, cup ties for Bracknell Town may not currently be as important as getting Southern League points under new manager Matthew Saunders.
The Robins are – surprisingly – bottom of the table heading into the weekend’s games with the new manager still waiting to register a first league win of his tenure despite a highly professional performance in Saunders’ first game – a 2-0 FA Cup win over Tadley Calleva. Danny Robinson’s Hungerford will not offer an easy ride, they are 10th with 13 points after nine games of the season.
‘Don’t mention the FA Cup, though’, as Hungerford’s Martyn Leach’s excellent match preview suggests. Both teams were knocked out of the competition and replaced by teams they should have beaten and now face each other in the FA Cup with a place in the First Round at stake.
Match tickets are available now via the Bracknell Town website.
The Adobe Women’s FA Cup has had some great home games this weekend with Reading FC Women and Dave Kitson’s Maidenhead United at home. But here at Football in Berkshire, we’re FA Cup fans and we’ll be giving it our all for Ashridge Park to get their £4,000 bid if they can get past Greater London Women’s Football League Premier Division side South London.
