Binfield’s three upcoming Isthmian League games have been postponed after a trio of players were called up for international duty.
The Moles, who play in the Isthmian League South Central Division, have called up three of their players to play for Bermuda in the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers.
Goalkeeper CJ Fubler Jr and outfield players Razhir Smith-Jones and Aunde Todd are all part of the squad that will face Curacao and Trinidad & Tobago on Friday 14 and Wednesday 19 November.
A fourth player, Reese Jones Jr, is currently injured, having played in all four of his country’s last World Cup qualifying matches.
Due to the absence of the players, the Isthmian League took the decision to postpone the Moles’ three upcoming matches. Their home games against Ascot United and Westfield, as well as their away trip to Kingstonian will all be rearranged.
New dates for the postponed games will be set within the next six weeks. Binfield’s next game is a home game against Bognor Regis Town on November 22.
Binfield Manager Ross Weatherstone added “It’s a great achievement to be called up by your country at Youth or Senior level, and to be called up to play in a Senior World Cup Qualifier is a very special thing; a memory they can all cherish.
“All the players called up live locally to the club, so it’s great for the local community to have players playing International football. I hope this generates local interest, so everyone in Berkshire can support them.”
Bermuda’s World Cup Qualification hopes are over, but the country managed to reach the final round of Concacaf Qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
The Caribbean island finished second in Group A in the second round behind Honduras, but finished bottom of Group B in the final round of a group containing Jamaica, Curacao and Trinidad & Tobago.
