Barcelona responded as Man Utd to prepare £ 61 million offer for Fermin Lopez | Football

Manchester United is preparing a € 70 million (£ 61 million) offer to sign Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez, according to a report in Spain.

Ruben Amorim has strengthened the option to attack United this summer with the signing of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, while the club is also in the market for a new striker.

Fermin, meanwhile, made 46 appearances in all competitions for Barcelona last season, scored eight goals and registered 10 assists.

According to the Catalan Sport newspaper, United have now made their interest in Fermin and are expected to propose € 70 million (£ 61 million) offers for the 22 -year -old player.

The report claims that the Barcelona and Fermin groups know the situation and transfer can occur ‘in the coming weeks’.

Fermin is said to have received a lot of interest this summer with Chelsea, Arsenal and clubs in Saudi Pro League all investigated.

However, the midfielder insisted that he wanted to remain in Barcelona.

But Barca still faces financial difficulties and sports claims that Spanish champions will be ready to sell Fermin if United follow up on their interests with an offer of € 70 million (£ 61 million).

Meanwhile, Mundo Deportivo reported that Barcelona’s head coach, Hansi Flick, wanted Fermin to remain at the club.

Fermin signed a new contract last October which made him bound to the club until 2029. The agreement also included a € 500 million (£ 436 million) purchase clause.
