Arsenal have opened talks with RB Leipzig and Benjamin Sesko during the summer transfer to move to the Emirates Stadium.
Mikel Arteta really wanted to sign the elite striker this summer and had agreed to Arsenal’s steps for Sesko, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Sesko scored 21 goals for Leipzig last season, far less than fellow Arsenal targeted Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen.
But Sesko, five years younger than Lisbon and Napoli’s sports striker, has more time on his side and Arsenal believes he can develop into the top Premier League stars.
That does not mean that Arsenal has withdrawn from a race for Gyokeres, which also attracts interest from Manchester United and Chelsea.

But it is claimed to be the focus of Arsenal at this time is in Sesko, with the Gunners in a conversation with RB Leipzig and the player himself to move to North London.

Arsenal expressed his interest in Sesko last summer and again during the January transfer window at the beginning of the year.
But the Gunners ended without the signing of the striker in the two windows, the decision that backfires during the season.
Sesko is believed to have an agreement with Leipzig that he will be sold this summer, but the Bundesliga Club reportedly survived at a large cost of £ 92.5 million.
Arsenal will certainly try to reduce that number during the transfer negotiations and is expected to push the fees between £ 60-70 million.
Sesko has enjoyed two productive seasons at RB Leipzig after the £ 20 million transfer from Red Bull Salzburg in 2023. He has 16 goals in 41 hats for Slovenia and has been supported to become the biggest player in the country.
Gyokeres and Osimhen were far more productive last season, with the former pocketing 54 goals for the Portuguese Sports champion and the last one netted 36 goals for Turkish Galatasaray champions.
